New GoPro Hero 4 Session: Capability, Cubed

GoPro dominates the action cam market at 70% by some estimates.  The Session, available July 12, turns a one-button cube into instant digital goodness.  Weather protection, in tandem with a wide-angle lens, has Active Junky enthused about the project (now product).

The applications?  Gorilla-taped to nearly any object, moving or stationary, Session grabs runs, spills, stunts and achievements without fanfare – or a monitor to frame the action.  With two hours of runtime, there’s room to experiment; the entire point from our experts’ perspective.

Swappable memory cards minimize limitations while a 90-minute recharge could prove frustrating unless power (meaning, recording) is managed.  Updates now are part of the GoPro culture as we’re anticipating better editing options, faster battery juicing and mounting options in the near future.

Best For: Creating two-camera videos when paired with an existing cam, sensational YouTube videos if defying death is your passion
