I love these shoes! They are very light and very comfortable. I hike, run, walk, and dance in them. They are tough enough to do rough trails and keep your feet cool! The are not Cholla cactus resistant but few shoes are, be careful where you step in AZ! I will definitely be buying more of these shoes!

I am always on the prowl for the perfect trail running shoe that is simple yet comfortable and tough. I run with a natural gait (like a gazelle), and have always believed that the minimal approach is the way to go. I feel that the New Balance Minimus trail series is by far the most progressive line on the market thus far. I have two pair of the MT20, and am planning on buying another soon as I am quickly wearing them out at 60+ miles per week. I absolutely love these shoes. If Nacho Libre had a pair he would definitely say "they are tha bayest!". I wear the everywhere. In fact I rarely wear any other shoe. If you like to feel your running surface, want less shoe, and appreciate comfort, these are the shoes for you.

Being 6'2" and about 235lbs I always liked the idea of the minimal style shoes, but there wasn't a chance I would ever wear a pair of the ones with the individual toes (unless there was one to match my Batman toes socks, then let's talk). These shoes were exactly what I was looking for. Being in San Diego the upper is ideal for the warm/hot temperatures with a great breathability, but not so much that your feet are covered with sand at the end of the day. The outsole offers a lot of grip, though my weight may help that a bit. Most of the trails I'm using them on are granite or sand, and I've never had an issue. For the money paid my own complaint is that for my environment going sockless may not be ideal, unless the prospect of taken them off every couple miles to dump out the couple stray pebbles that make their way in doesn't both you. Great shoe, not a bad price and, as long as they last as long as the other New Balance shoes I've had in the past, worth every penny.

Like most people I have seen those crazy glove shoes and thought to myself those are interesting but I would never be caught in those. It was then that I found out NEw Balance has designed a similar shoe without the individual toes sticking out, the Minimus. I did some research and found out that it is a bit of a transition going from regular shoes to these minimal/barefoot style shoes. The reason being is that these shoes make you use more muscles in your feet and legs than you have in a log time. Most modern shoes takes the strain off these muscles, but the Minimus is intended to help you reconnect with these muscles and help maximize your workouts. I was a bit concerned that I would have problems transitioning as I have a large (13) and wide foot. While there was a small learning curve, I have come to love these shoes. They are super light weight and give you a real feel for the ground. I have been extremely happy with these shoes. Another cool feature is that they are built to be used with or without socks. As someone who is not a huge sock fan this is a great feature especially with the summer right around the corner. I would recommend these shoes to anyone, form the guy looking to transition to barefoot style shoes to the foot glove wearing fanatic. New Balance has taken their reputation for making quality shoes and is providing a great product even if it is a minimalist shoe.
