Altrec is one of my favorite online stores that has made it into my daily rotation of sites I visit. Even though the folks over at VISA know that I shouldn't be purchasing any more stuff online, I can't help checking out what's going to be on their daily deal. One of the best things that my extremely cheap friend taught me, I'm sorry "frugal friend," cheap seems to have a negative connotation associated with it, is that if you go to REI or Any Mountain, check out their gear in person and than purchase it online through a place like Altrec that often provides free shipping, you can save bundles! Recently, I went to one of those Ski & Snowboard expos and spotted a pair of Burton Invader Snowboard boots that I liked. I have hideous, wide, obscure looking feet, so when I find a pair of snowboard boots I like I don't mess around. These boots have an interior mesh that mold to your feet, so when comfort, value and flexibility are important to you, then you have to give these boots a try. These boots are great for the beginner free-rider or for someone who is learning to carve more aggressively. Anyways, I flipped out my smartphone and looked up these boots on Altrec's website and bought them for $20 cheaper with free shipping even before I left the expo. Needless to say, the boots arrived in about 5 business days, I've used them all season and my toes still thank me every time I ride.
