Awesome hiking boot for all weather and long distance hiking. Didn't have to go through the initial break in process, it was pretty comfortable right from the start. I wore it for the first time climbing up a 14er in Colorado and since it was April there was still a lot of snow up top but my feet stayed dry even when I was basically wading through thigh deep snow and they were pretty comfortable the whole way up and down. I also wore them playing slosh ball in a snow covered field and while everyone else was complaining about frozen toes my feet were nice and toasty and maintained good grip even in the mud. I recommend trying a size or a half size down from your normal street shoe, I wear a size 6 street shoe but the size 5 works great for me. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who will only be hiking around in warm weather since they are pretty warm shoes. But if you're looking for an all weather/all terrain type of shoe or for cool to cold weather only, this is perfect. Can't wait to take them on my next backpacking trip!
