If you’ve seen Teton Gravity Research’s Paradise Waits, the results of this past weekend’s Powder Awards are of no surprise. Angel Collinson came away with three top honors: Best Female Performance, Powder Poll (essentially the people’s choice award, voted on by thousands of avid POWDER readers) and, perhaps most impressively, the coveted Best Line award.
Angel was the first woman in twenty years of TGR flicks to have an opening segment, kicking off last year’s Almost Ablaze with her signature technical approach to big mountain lines. This year, she closed off Paradise Waits with this absolute banger of a part. She’s also the first woman in history to win the Best Line award, undoubtedly leading a new generation of hard-charging female skiers into the limelight.
Fast, technical, burly—however you describe Angel’s riding, you can’t help but agree: she’s absolutely deserving of every accolade thrown her way this year. Congrats to Angel, and mainly, a big thank you for pushing the limits of skiing even further.
