CATEGORIESOne of the most anticipated climbing films of the year, MERU tells the story of three accomplished and ambitious alpinists: Jimmy Chin, Conrad Anker and Renan Ozturk.
Their goal? The Shark’s Fin, a previously unclimbed prow that juts out from the mighty face of Mount Meru, a 21,00-foot peak in Northern India. It’s crowned by ice and snow when not shrouded by clouds.
The successful 2011 push marked Anker’s 3rd attempt, while Chin and Ozturk had both attempted the same route with Anker in 2008. From the trailer, the journey has obviously been a harrowing one.
We can’t wait to see the full film on August 14th.
