Segway Pushes Two Wheels Toward All-Conditions Performance

Though a few vertical degrees short of mountain goat status,  Segway’s new miniPRO claims to handle changing road conditions.  And muster weatherproof and dustproof functionality thanks to an IP-54 rating.  App controlled and with an 800-watt dual motor, the company’s confident that moderate climbs and descents are within range for mortals who prefer their two wheels are placed side-by-side rather than front-and-rear (as on a bike or scooter).  Active Junky testers have yet to lay eyes, hands or feet on the head- and tail-light equipped machine but are anxious to see how it stacks up against a finely-tuned longboard.  The end of hover boards?
