WATCH: Fishing an Endangered Species for Science

Follow this group of experienced anglers who document their trip to the remote Kamchatka region of eastern Russia. Their purpose: fish for Steelhead, in light of its preservation and conservation. Steelhead, which could be described as rainbow trout with behavior similar to Salmon, are classified as an endangered species in Russia - meaning fishing for Steelhead is forbidden. Since the Steelhead are rare, they are difficult to study. As a result, this group of anglers, who are far from scientists, are called upon to do scientific work.
