Keen Reisen Zip Full-Grain Waterproof

These women’s boots incorporate 100 grams of Keen.Warm, their lightweight insulation of charcoal bamboo, to keep your feet toasty warm. A combination of waterproof full-grain leather and their proprietary Keen.Dry waterproof membrane lets vapor out without allowing water in. A reinforced toe helps to protect your foot from stubs when you’re scrambling over rugged terrain, or uneven sidewalks.

We found these waterproof boots to be some of the most comfortable pairs to slip on straight out of the box. While they may not look overly rugged, we were pleased to find that these casual boots perform just as well in the rain and snow as they do while cruising around town. Easy on and off with an interior zipper, you can further adjust the lacing for more or less support. They’re currently offered in both the black color that we tested, as well as distressed brown. Whether we were navigating across an icy backwoods stream or sipping on a cocktail at our local watering hole, the Keen Reisen boots were up to the task.

Field Notes: Our testers were happy with the Keen Reisens in the standard run-through of universal tests. The comfort was there with little to no break-in time and little fatigue over the miles. Their resistance to water was stellar, but full submersion faltered once you got up to the lacing. The added insulation made them warm, but without being hot. Traction was solid over slick surfaces. They held their own well in all tests and shined in the weather protection-oriented tests, making them a great workhorse winter boot.

Tester Comments: “The Keen boots performed well in many of our more technical tests. With that in mind, I really like that they feel like casual boots instead of heavy hikers. I don’t love the clunky feeling of more heavy duty footwear and am glad to find slim, light winter boots that can still perform in multiple aspects.”
