Manufacturer disclaimer: Available frequencies vary by country and FRS/GMRS use approved in USA only.  Our recommendation?  Grab a pair of the Talkabouts and take them to Chile to put the rechargeable, 22-channel duo to work.  No matter wind or water noise, these were our frequent companions in the Aysen region.  T460’s VibraCall Alert got team member attention during on-water and on-mountain testing and photo sessions.  Backcountry locations were ideal for the small-sized, low energy consumption radio.  As with all similar technology, transmission range varies across topography with line-of-sight always the first choice for reliable communication.  Use back in Colorado confirmed Motorola’s advantages even when traveling in a convoy to the mountains.
